Miquel Carrión Benavent

Miquel Carrión Benavent was born in L'Alcúdia, Valencia, on January 25, 1995. He began his musical studies at the age of 6, specializing in piano at the approved center "The House of Music of L'Alcúdia", where in 2013 he obtained a professional degree in said specialty. That same year he accessed the specialty of Composition at the "Joaquin Rodrigo" Superior Conservatory of Music of Valencia, studying with professors of the stature of Andrés Valero, Carlos Perales, Gregorio Jimenez, Francisco Zacarés, Tomás Gilabert, among others, and later expanded his knowledge at the "Liszt Academy" in Budapest, with Bella Mate, Mate Balogh and Serei Zsolt Lászlo, to name just a few.

To complement his training he has participated in various composition courses, such as; The “I Nucia Composition Course” and “I Montserrat Composition Course” with the great composer Andrés Valero Castells. With Maestro Gregory Fritze he took the "I Composition Course l'Armónica de Buñol" and in both 2014 and 2016 he received a scholarship from the Berklee Valencia University to study in its summer program with Fritze as a teacher.

He has also trained in the field of management by participating and learning in; l'Olleria (Valencia), with maestro Enrique García Asencio, the “I Courses on Composition and Conducting Ciutat d'Oliva” conducting the d'Oliva band in the closing concert of the course, as well as the "I Course on conducting Unió Musical Band of Riola", with maestro Artal, where he also conducted the concert. He also studied conducting with Professor Serei Zsolt Lászlo at the Liszt Academy in Budapest and Jesus Cantos at the Higher Conservatory of Music in Valencia.

Another very important field within his training has always been composition for audiovisual media, training with teachers such as; David Antolin at the Yamaha Music School in Valencia and with Bella Mate at the Liszt Academy in Budapest.

Regarding his musical production we can highlight some of his works such as: Atlàntida, a finalist work in the I Composition Contest "Manuel Carascosa" in Buñol, or What is Christmas? Work commissioned and premiered by the "Filharmònica de Requena" and the "Coral Utielana", under the direction of Miguel Ángel Giménez Márquez. His work WAM 414-J was premiered by the orchestra of the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia.
Some of his works have also been performed internationally, such as Sant Jordi (Selection) with the Hungarian National Radio Orchestra and ConceRdion, concerto for solo accordion, performed by Eszter Hajdu in the auditorium of the Liszt Academy, among others.

As a professional he has composed the music for several short films, including; Amargalma by Angels Melange, Loving by Patricia Gutierrez, or Els Gegants by Karma Gava. Likewise in the business field he has created corporate music for the company Hidrosalud and VisionAudio. He also composed the music for the winning project, by Susano Soriano, in the fashion show organized by the Barreira academy.

He is currently a professor of harmony and analysis at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Cullera, as well as piano at the Aurora music school in Valencia. He is also immersed in several compositions, as well as the principal conductor of the Orquestra Filharmònica Alcudiana.
